Lake Ingalls Trail

Over the weekend, Ben and I went on a hike in search of fall color and had a lovely little taste of winter too. It was worth trudging through the snow for this view!

Thankfully we had read recent trip reports from this hike on the Washington Trails Association website so we were prepared and dressed appropriately to encounter snow. We carried snowshoes in our packs just in case but never ended up using them. Though the whole hike is 9 miles roundtrip, we turned around at the top of the mountain, skipping the last mile of descent to see the lake; where you climb down, you must climb back up, and we’d already done of lot of tough climbing through the snow at that point.

^Since this hike is on National Forest land the trail was open but the bathroom was closed.^
